“The culture is implemented into the curriculum. This institution has brought out the beautiful things that are a part of me... This institution is for me, and I’m learning for my community.” “It’s important to give indigenous students and indigenous people a platform to spread the traditional knowledge... of the culture, of the land. I think it’s important if we are heard.”

“NICC is a safe place for students to grow and thread indigenous knowledge with Western math and science to the advantage of the student’s communities.”

Dr. Stonie Cooper - FT Environmental Science Faculty

"Because of the amazing Math & Science division Instructors along with my experience this year in the NASA Fellowship program, I changed my degree from an Associate of business to an Associate of General Science Studies in my final semester. I am very excited about the cutting edge research we are doing and look forward to pursing my Bachelors in the new NICC Indigenous Environmental Health staring Fall 2025. I am also very excited to see all that we will achieve as I continue in the NASA Fellowship program."
