Earning Your GED at NICC!

What GED study programs are offered at NICC?

Essential Education/ GED Academy

NICC's GED Programs called Essential Education offers GED support for students at multiple campuses. Essential Education provides online lessons, unofficial practice tests, and customized curriculum to help learners work toward earning their GED. The program includes GED Academy and TABE courses to support students who needed to review foundations before-hand. Essential Education has many features that can support learners including estimated time of study until test readiness, review and progress tracking, time tracking, and video lessons geared toward adult learners.

The program works on any smart device or computer with wi-fi or internet connection. Overall, Essential Education makes studying for your GED customized, convenient, and comfortable from your own home or come to campus and use NICC’s computer lab.

Readiness to test in 1 of the 4 areas, can be measured in diverse ways through study programs, official pre-tests, etc. NICC’s GED Programs typically work through a 1,2,3 process when it comes to testing.

  1. Study with NICC GED Study Programs until you are ready for testing.
  2. Schedule an official GEDReady Practice Test on GED Website . At $6 this is a great way to see if you are likely to pass the official test.*
  3. If your practice test is passed, you are recommended to schedule your official test on GED Website either at an official testing center or you may be able to take the online option in your own home: GED Test Scheduling. Discuss these options with your GED Tutor/Instructor.

* If you are unable to pay for your GED practice or official test, please contact your GED Tutor/Instructor. Support may be available but is dependent on funding source availability.
