Through funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development,
Nebraska Indian Community College (NICC) has begun the construction of a vocational-technical
building at the Santee Campus. The building is scheduled for completion in January
2015. The building space will include two classrooms, two offices and shop space.
NICC will use the building initially for its carpentry program with the potential
for expansion of programs into welding and automotive or other areas of need identified
by the community and the college. NICC aims to have carpentry classes beginning in
the spring semester 2015.
