I will graduate with my Master in Science in Family and Consumer Science in December.
I have lived and taught at Santee Community School for the past 9 years and will be
beginning my 5th year in FCS. The 2020-2021 year will be my second year as an adjunct
with dual-credit courses with the NICC team. I am currently teaching Native American
Beading, Native American Textile Construction, and Introduction to Entrepreneurship.
I have 3 boys that are the center of my world, Gabe is 7, Micah is 5, and Briggs is
3. I also have a side business, Kristine’s Kitchen, where I can jams, salsa, and pickles
and make baked goods. I have also spent the past five summers as the Santee Sioux
Nation Farmers Market Manager and assisting with community garden work through Center
for Rural Affairs. I am passionate about bringing healthy, home-grown meals. This
summer, I have partnered with Santee Health and Wellness Center to bring some cooking
videos advocating for nutritious meals that can be grown in your own garden.
