Sociology Courses offered at NICC
Introduction to the basic principles of sociology, including the study of sociological research, theoretical perspectives, culture, socialization, social structure, social institutions, deviance, inequalities of class, race/ethnicity, gender, and age, as well as stratification, demography, and population.
This course studies the nature of human culture as an adaptive mechanism. The traditional aspects of culture, kinship, social organization technology and their application to modern culture will be emphasized. (Elective)
This course introduces the student to basic statistical concepts, descriptive statistics, probability, and the basic concepts of research design as they are applied in the social and behavioral sciences. Prerequisite MTH 110 or above.
