Dancing for Healthy Living

Almost 400 people attended the First Annual Healthy Living Round Dance and Dinner event at the Briar Cliff University Campus in Sioux City on March 28.

The Round Dance offered Siouxland families, especially at-risk kids, a fun safe event for making new friends, strengthening cultural bonds, and enjoying wonderful food and entertainment.

The event was made possible through a collaboration between Nebraska Indian Community College and Briar Cliff University and 17 area sponsors including the Santee Sioux Nation, Omaha Nation, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, Dakota Indian Foundation, Counseling and Support Services, Siouxland Human Investment Partnership, Four Direction Community Center, Siouxland Indian Child Welfare , Campus Ministry, Native Youth Standing Strong, Briar Cliff University United., and Nebraska Indian Community College’s Tribal Extension program, Project New Dawn.
