Title III Grant

 

The NICC Title III Project are funded by a five year grant from the U.S. Department of Education, beginning October, 2006. Its purpose is to encourage the construction of Information Technology that will serve the College Faculty, Students and Administrator. The projects & activities that are funded have the following focus:
The Information Technology based Contstruction projects are designed to enhance the physical structures of NICC. Within the grant funding NICC will construct, remodel and equip classrooms with technology focused on enhanced teaching and learning.
Faculty Support is an initiative which assists faculty in incorporating technology into courses they teach. Available resources are:
 
  • Time to redesign courses to include technology
  • Equipment, including hardware and software
  • Technical and pedagogical assistance
  • Sponsorship to conferences
  • Consultationfor brainstorming, conducting analysis, designing, developing, implementing, or evaluating instruction
 
Objectives:
By 9/2008, increase from 32% to 34% faculty technology use related to curriculum.
By 9/2008, increase from 12% to 24% student use of technology-based curricula for learning.
By 9/2008, increase from 6 to 12 the course offerings that incorporate distributed education technologies.
By 9/2008, increase from 4% to 8% the percentage of faculty and students who access inter-library learning.
By 9/2008, increase from 4% above established baseline to 8% above baseline as indicated by annual assessment the faculty/staff/student satisfaction with College Technology and Media Services.
By 9/2008, increase from 5% to 10% integrated student services delivery on-site and online.
By 9/2008, increase from 3% to 6% faculty/advisors using student data software for student services.
By 9/2008, increase from 18%, 16%, and 12% to 36%, 32%, and 24%, respectively, the number of faculty, administrators, and students using technology to access student information.
By 9/2008, increase from 4% to 8% participation of the reservation population in outreach Activities.

  Offer workshops for students, faculty and public on the usage and capacity of NICC library. 2.1,2.2 details
